Constant change

Elections are over, done with the counting as well, the results are out and the dust has settled. And the verdict;the leftists are back in power in Kerala and West Bengal. The politics in Kerala is fairly simple to understand it seems. The voters in Kerala vote against the incumbent government. That's what they have been doing for the last 3 decades.Nowhere else in India will you find the anti-incumbency factor so prominent.Someone has rightly said, the only thing constant is change.

But on the other hand, consistency is the name of the game in West Bengal. The left front have been ruling the state since the time Dev Anand was in his nappies. And they are back again. Is it lack of a better alternative or is it because the voters are satisfied with the kind of work that the communist government have been putting up in the last few decades?Whatever it is,the red flag is fluttering again in Bengal.

On a connected note, there are quite a few things which are common between Kerala and West Bengal.

1) Both Mallus and Bongs are football lovers.
2) Both Mallus and Bongs are fond of fish(on their dining table and not in their aquarium).
3) Left Parties have a mighty presence in both the states.

Can you think of any other similarities?
